Location and Attractions

Miss Maud Swedish Hotel is a boutique hotel located in the centre of Perth (view map) only a few minutes walk to the shopping area and central business district. Perth is the gateway to the vast expanses of Western Australia and plenty of amazing day-trips out of the city to the Pinnacles National Park, the Swan Valley and Rottnest Island.

Although Perth may not have winters with snow like other parts of the world, the seasons all have established characteristics, each unravelling a multitude of adventures.

FACT: Perth has more daylight hours than any other Australian city.

Perth Seasons

PERTH SUMMER (DEC - FEB)

On hot days, Perth often benefits from a cool breeze travelling in from the Indian Ocean and striking the coast’s idyllic blue waters and onto the city’s clean, white sandy beaches which sit 11km away. Summer brings with it an almost bottomless bag of fun including open air theatre, concerts & cinema, food & music festivals, water sports, cricket, fishing and fine dining al fresco style.

PERTH AUTUMN (MAR - MAY)

Perth has a Mediterranean feel during Autumn and some may believe it is an extension of Summer with mostly long periods of fine weather, however a little less hot. Temperatures are in fact better suited to laying out in the sun and partaking in activities like cycling and early morning bush walks.

PERTH WINTER (JUN - AUG)

Winters in Perth are mild and most days the temperature hovers between 15 and 20 degrees celsius. An excellent season to shop, eat great food in the many restaurants on offer and keep fit with walks along the coast grabbing a bite to eat along the way. Again there are plenty of trips to take, both on sea and on dry land.

PERTH SPRING (SEP - NOV)

It’s a time for people to put away their jackets and wind down their car windows, letting in some fresh air. Spectacularly coloured wildflowers adorn the Swan Valley and almost like harmony are accompanied by Spring in the Valley, a festival celebrating wine and satisfying even the most accomplished wine taster. If wine and flowers make your eyes water then set sail to view migrating whales, hopping on a whale watching boat.
